Thank you to everyone who stepped up with a donation for Ukrainian refugee pets. A true testament to the bond between pets and their humans, many families continue to arrive at border crossings with their beloved pets. Your support means refugees are met by SPCA International partners providing veterinary care, pet food, blankets, crates and other supplies. They arrive exhausted and uncertain about the future, but at least we know they encounter the friendly face of a fellow animal lover.
SPCA International is a proud supporter of a new shelter in Spain! The facility is dedicated to the care of Spanish Greyhounds, known as Galgos. Our longtime partner organization, SOS Galgos, is thrilled to share this heartwarming video of their first arrivals.

After months of careful coordination, 285 dogs and cats have arrived from Afghanistan! By far our most complicated rescue yet, we are incredibly grateful to every single person who helped save these animals’ lives. Hundreds if not thousands of people have stepped up to keep these dogs and cats safe. Every single donor, volunteer and partner organization has been instrumental in bringing these animals to safety.
Our incredible partners in Brazil trapped and sterilized 55 cats abandoned on an island off the coast of Rio. Even more exciting than this initial success, they have received approval from authorities to set up a shelter for the cats and they will frequently refresh food and water.
This February, SPCA International is designating $100,000 to spay and neuter efforts around the globe. Among many other successful campaigns, our Middle East team recently held a successful spay and neuter event with our partners from the UK embassy in Baghdad.
