What Information Does SPCA International Gather?
SPCA International gathers two types of information about the site’s users: non-personally identifiable information and personally identifiable information.
Non-personally identifiable information. As users access the site, SPCA International collects and aggregates information indicating, among other things, which pages were visited, the order in which they were visited, and which hyperlinks were employed. Collecting such information involves the logging of IP addresses, operating system, and browser software used by each visitor. Although such information is not personally identifiable, SPCA International may be able to determine from the IP address a visitor’s Internet Service Provider and the geographic location of the user’s point of connectivity.
The non-personally identifiable information collected helps in diagnosing any server problems, administering the site, identifying the most popular areas of the site, and determining the effectiveness of promotional activities.

This information is gathered so that SPCA International can better serve you and for social media networking.
SPCA International does not control the acts of this site’s members or visitors. All members and visitors should be aware that their disclosure of personally identifiable information in a bulletin board, chat room, guest book, or other forum allows other parties to send them unsolicited email. How Does SPCA International Use Gathered Information?
If you do not make a service request or donation or otherwise identify yourself, we will have no personally identifiable information about you. We will only use aggregate information derived, in part, from your use of our website to improve our site and our service to you.
If you provide personal information, we may enter your name into our constituent database and contact you in order to complete voluntary surveys seeking feedback for quality and service improvement purposes; supply you with information regarding our programs and services; request voluntary time or monetary contributions to SPCAI; and/or request your participation in any SPCAI research studies. We collect the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us by e-mail. If your name is entered into the database, we may contact you as outlined above.
Use of non-personally identifiable information. SPCA International uses non-personally identifiable information in aggregate form to build higher quality, more useful online services by performing statistical analyses of the collective characteristics and behavior of the site visitors, and by measuring interests regarding specific areas of the site.
The site may contain links to other Internet websites, including other companies, charitable organizations, and other sites that may or may not be operated or associated with SPCA International. Unless otherwise explicitly stated, SPCA International is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such sites, including such sites’ use of any information (such as IP number, browser type, or operating system) collected when visitors to the site click through links to those sites. Even though such information might not identify the user personally, users should be familiar with the privacy practices of those other sites.
Use of personally identifiable information. The personally identifiable information collected including the entrant’s name, date of birth, e-mail address, phone, zip code of where they live, and gender, is gathered for the sole purpose of SPCA International to verify the age of the entrant and for social networking and purposes related to this site.
How do I “Opt-Out” from Receiving Promotional Communications or Services?
Individuals who provide personal information may choose to “opt out” of receiving various promotional materials and services. If the user decides to discontinue receiving promotional information and services from SPCA International, you can choose the “opt out” feature made available.
SPCA International is respectful of and limits its e-mail contact and solicitations to those users who have not “opted out” of receiving such communications. The solicitations are limited in that they, among other things, will clearly indicate the originator of the e-mail and provide the user with a method of “opting out” of receiving future communications of a similar nature.
