Last month our team was on the ground with our partners at Spay Panama, visiting their Panama City clinic and helping to spay and neuter 562 animals! Through their invaluable work, countless dogs and cats are receiving the medical care they need.
SPCAI’s rescue team is constantly working to save animals for U.S. service members deployed worldwide. We recently rescued these 21 dogs for our troops. All of them are now safe in the U.S. with their new military families. As of today, 80 more dogs and cats are waiting for help from our team. Marc Du Lac, a USAF veteran and aircraft weapons maintenance instructor, was sent on a one year contract in Iraq. One year away from his family, friends, and beloved pets. During his time in Iraq he formed an unbreakable bond with a puppy he lovingly named Rooster. Thanks to help from SPCA International, Rooster was rescued and made the long journey from Iraq to Mark’s home in Florida. In this blog post, Mark lovingly tells the story of how they met, their time in Iraq and how Rooster is doing now.
