Hurricane Response: Picking Up the Pieces

The 2017 hurricane season devastated the island communities of Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and St. Martin. Through SPCA International’s Disaster Relief Fund organizations in these areas received critical support to continue their important work.

Fighting the Abuse of Spanish Greyhounds

SPCA International has been dedicated to fighting the systemic abuse of Spanish Greyhounds (Galgos). As those efforts continue we are also supporting the constant rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of Spanish Greyhounds and podencos that are abused, tortured and abandoned by these hunters.

OBP: Worldwide Super Mission Update

In January 2018 executive director, Meredith Ayan, and program manager, Lori Kalef, along with 8 volunteers traveled to Beirut, Lebanon where 25 dogs were waiting to finish their long journey to the United States. All of these pups are now safe and sound in their forever homes. They are enjoying the sweet life and you can see it for yourself in this celebratory rescue photo gallery.

Radiation Can’t Poison a Dog’s Love

Over 900 stray dogs roam the site of the world’s worst nuclear disaster at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. SPCAI has partnered with Clean Futures Fund to provide veterinary care, vaccinations, feeding stations, radiation monitoring and implement a future adoption program for these almost forgotten dogs.

Operation Baghdad Pups: Worldwide Super Mission

Right now Executive Director, Meredith Ayan, and Program Manager, Lori Kalef, along with eight volunteers are en route to Beirut Lebanon. From there they will transport 25 dogs to the U.S. where their forever homes are waiting. Their journey didn’t start in Lebanon, this is just one of the many stops that these dogs have made in the ultimate rescue mission…
