Their Work

Humane Africa Trust (HAT) is a young, women-led, community-based organization in the Lupane – Matabeleland Province in Zimbabwe whose mission is to promote a kind, compassionate, healthy and just environment for all animals.

Humane Africa Trust promotes and advocates for a plant-based diet. They also focus on environmental and climate change issues, with outreach to school children, youths, women, the elderly and the disabled. HAT conducts educational programs where they distribute information to the communities and school children on animal welfare and the advantages of adopting a plant-based diet. They also collaborate with the local Veterinary Department, the Agricultural Department and the Ministry of Health to offer free mobile veterinary clinics for domestic animals such as cats, dogs and donkeys for people in rural settings.

SPCA International is proud to support this organization as they continue to grow and improve their animal welfare impact.
