Their Work

Founded over 100 years ago in Dubuque Iowa the Dubuque Regional Humane Society has been dedicated to promoting the well-being of all animals by fostering respect and building life-long bonds between companion animals and people through adoption, education, community outreach and the prevention of cruelty.

Dubuque Regional Humane Society owns and operates its own veterinary clinic to serve the lost, abandoned, and unwanted pets in Dubuque and surrounding areas. In addition to the thousands of companion animals they care for annually through their many programs, in 2017 the Dubuque Regional Humane Society took in 715 dogs and 76 cats from overcrowded shelters in the south to be adopted locally.

SPCA International is proud to support the Dubuque Regional Humane Society and their no-kill initiative.
