      Bipartisan Legislation to Protect Animals
It might surprise you, but there is currently no federal law against animal cruelty. While all 50 states consider animal cruelty a felony offense, the lack of federal law means local law enforcement often struggles with cases involving federal land or multiple states.

Serving the Dogs of Chornobyl Amidst Conflict
It wasn’t easy, but SPCA International partner, Clean Futures Fund, obtained access to the Chornobyl Nuclear Exclusion Zone to continue treating dogs in the area. After months of careful planning, Clean Futures Fund assembled a small international team that consisted of American, British, German, and Ukrainian citizens who successfully completed a spay/neuter clinic in October. They reached 125 dogs over the five-day event, which will prevent approximately 450 puppies from being born.

      Alien
Alien is truly out of this world! The staff and volunteers at Simabo say he is the funniest dog at the shelter. Alien is kind, friendly, and loves being the center of attention, making him the ultimate good boy. He gets along great with other dogs and would do well with children. Alien is full of energy and looking for an active family that enjoys going on walks and can keep up with his playful spirit. If Alien sounds like your perfect match, contact Simabo.
