      It might surprise you, but there is currently no federal law against animal cruelty. While all 50 states consider animal cruelty a felony offense, the lack of federal law means local law enforcement often struggles with cases involving federal land or multiple states.

      Dogs and Soldiers will Reunite Thanks to Relaxed CDC Rules 
      We are thrilled to announce that the CDC will relax restrictions on the import of dogs from over 100 countries! After a year of complicated and costly rescues, this news means SPCA International will be able to reunite soldiers and pups faster and more efficiently. Our Operation Baghdad Pups: Worldwide program persevered during the restrictions, which began in July 2021. We redesigned the program to send dogs to Canada for a six-month quarantine before traveling to the U.S.
