Dear [name],

I am writing to ask for your help.  I will be [NAME ACTIVITY HERE – e.g. running, walking, hosting a party] for an organization and cause in which I really believe – SPCA International’s Operation Baghdad Pups program.  I am taking on this fundraising challenge because of my steadfast commitment to support our troops serving in the Middle East.

Hundreds of troops in Iraq and Afghanistan befriend animals in the war zone as a way to cope with the hardship and terror they face every day.  Since it is against military regulations for active duty troops to befriend animals or transport one on a military flight, the ability of our soldiers to save these important friends through their own efforts is slim to none.  Operation Baghdad Pups has been working to safely transport the animals of U.S. troops home from the war zone since 2007.

Our troops need us.  Please support me in my effort to help SPCA International continue this vital program.  Will you help me not only improve the lives of countless homeless animals, but also the lives of our U.S. troops?  My personal goal is to raise [FUNDRAISING GOAL].  Will you consider making a donation of $15, $25 or $50?  Your donation will give me the support I need to really make a difference.

If you can help, please make your check payable to “SPCA International” and return it to me in the envelope provided.

Your support means a lot to me.  Most importantly, it means so much to our troops, whose adopted pets play a crucial role in their emotional well-being. Help them bring their buddies home!

All donations are tax deductable because SPCA International is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Thank you in advance for your support!
