Puppies in Pools

Can it get any cuter than this? These puppies are ready to swim with their pals and make all of us here at SPCA International, and hopefully you too, smile because nothing says summer like a pool party. We are just as excited as these pups for a summer full of sunshine, good company and lots of fun.

Australian Bushfires – One Year Later

One year after the Australian Bushfires made headlines around the world, SPCA International is celebrating the incredible work our partners have accomplished. We are so grateful to everyone who stood up to help organizations in Australia when they were rescuing scared, hurt and displaced animals in early 2020. Check out this video to see what we have accomplished together.

A Look Back at 2020

2020 was such an unprecedented year. Just 12 months ago, none of us could have imagined the loss and uncertainty ahead. Amazingly, the SPCA International community never faltered.

Thanks to your commitment to animals, we were able to fill hungry bellies, tend to sick and hurting animals and save lives. To each and every person who took the time to share a post, make a donation and support SPCA International’s work this year, we thank you.

Executive Director, Meredith Ayan, sums up the incredible work YOU made possible in this video. So, wherever you are, pat yourself on the back for making 2020 brighter for the suffering animals of the world. We’re looking forward to all we can accomplish together in 2021and we hope you’ll join us on the journey!

OBP: Worldwide A Day in the Life

SPCA International’s Operation Baghdad Pups: Worldwide program has been grounded since March. This program rescues and reunites dogs and cats with the military service members that befriended them while on deployment. Typically, these rescues take 1-2 months from start to finish, but due to COVID-19 shutdowns dozens of dogs and cats in our program are simply stuck, waiting for regular international air travel to resume. Unfortunately, many airlines have stopped operating and others have changed their animal transportation regulations. A majority of these rescues originate from the Middle East, where some airports are entirely shutdown. Now, months since the beginning of COVID-19 shutdowns, these animals are still waiting to be reunited with the military members who love them. We are working hard every day to find a solution to fly them to the U.S. as soon as possible.

Thanks to generous donors who have supported their care during this long delay, they are being well cared for by our friends in Iraq and other areas of the world. Watch this video to see what their days are like while they wait for their flights home.
