Around the world, wild animals are facing threats from illegal wildlife trade, exploitation, habitat loss, and being kept in captivity. In Thailand, one organization is working every day to give these animals a second chance: Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT).
We’re proud to call WFFT one of our partners and to support their incredible work rescuing, caring for, and protecting animals in need.
WFFT rescues wild animals from poor living conditions, illegal trade, and human exploitation. Their team provides food, shelter, medical care, and a safe place for animals to live. When possible, they also work to return rescued animals to the wild.
WFFT provides care and support to an average of 7,000 animals every year.
Helping Animals Get the Care They Need
One of the most important parts of WFFT’s work is their wildlife hospital. Rescued animals often arrive needing urgent medical care, and having the right equipment can make all the difference.
Through our partnership, we have provided $50,000 in grants to WFFT to purchase an anesthetic machine for their wildlife hospital. This equipment has already helped provide lifesaving care to wildlife in the region.
But our support doesn’t stop there.
Our funding has also helped provide food for the elephants in their care and supported the construction of fields for rescued coconut monkeys. These spaces give the monkeys more room to move, explore, and live in an environment that better meets their needs.
Every part of this work helps rescued animals heal and gives them the chance to live safer, healthier lives.
We’re in awe of the incredible work they do and are excited to continue supporting WFFT with an additional $50,000 grant.
This grant will help upgrade and enrich the elephant enclosures at the sanctuary.
For elephants who have spent years in captivity or suffered from exploitation, having a safe and enriching place to live is so important. Better enclosures can give them more space to move, explore, and behave more naturally.
It’s one more way we can help make sure rescued animals have not only a safe place to live, but a good quality of life.
