A New Era of Hope for Animals in California’s Antelope Valley

Every animal deserves a chance at a healthy and happy life. Every family deserves access to the care and resources needed to keep their pets safe. This shared belief brought SPCA International, the Caravita Foundation, and Littlerock Pet Clinic together to expand access to affordable spay and neuter services in California’s Antelope Valley.

The Antelope Valley is facing one of the nation’s most serious animal overpopulation crises. Through this partnership, Littlerock Pet Clinic is providing low-cost and free spay and neuter services to local families, rescuers, and community members who may otherwise struggle to afford this important care.

This partnership represents hope for thousands of animals and the people who love them. Littlerock Pet Clinic is expected to provide spay and neuter services to more than 6,000 animals within the first year, helping prevent animal suffering before it begins and keeping more pets healthy, safe, and out of overcrowded shelters.

SPCA International is incredibly proud to support this important work alongside the Caravita Foundation and Littlerock Pet Clinic. We awarded $120,000 to help make this lifesaving effort possible. These funds helped provide medical equipment, facility improvements, startup support, and surgical subsidies that allow the clinic to offer affordable care to families in need.

The need for accessible veterinary care in the Antelope Valley is urgent. Shelters in Lancaster and Palmdale often take in more animals each day than all other Los Angeles County shelters combined. At the same time, many families face financial barriers that make routine veterinary care difficult to access. Without affordable spay and neuter options, more animals are born without enough homes or resources to care for them.

Spaying and neutering are some of the most important ways we can protect animals and prevent suffering. These procedures help prevent unwanted litters, reduce shelter overcrowding, and allow pets to live healthier lives. By making these services available to more people, communities can address animal overpopulation before animals ever enter shelters.

Together, SPCA International, the Caravita Foundation, and Littlerock Pet Clinic are working to create lasting change for animals across the Antelope Valley. In its first year of operation, this partnership is expected to prevent more than 300,000 unwanted animal births. This will help reduce pressure on local shelters, lower euthanasia rates, and improve outcomes for animals and families throughout the region.

This lifesaving partnership would not be possible without the generosity of SPCA International supporters. We are so thankful to everyone who helps us raise the funds needed to support programs that prevent animal suffering and create a more humane future.

Because of your compassion, more families will have access to the resources they need to care for their pets, and more animals will have the chance to find loving homes. Together, we are making a difference for animals in California’s Antelope Valley.
