Thrown Away, and Left to Die

Someone took Camino, a sweet Spanish Greyhound, forced her into a plastic bag, tied it shut, and dumped her on the side of the road. She was left there to suffocate. Alone and terrified.

Our local partners found Camino just in time. She is alive today, but she is deeply traumatized and still needs urgent medical care to heal from what was done to her.

Camino’s body shows clear signs of abuse and neglect. She needs immediate veterinary treatment, a safe place to rest, and time to begin trusting again.

Camino’s story is heartbreaking, but it is not rare. Thousands of Spanish Greyhounds, known as galgos, are bred for hunting. Many are starved, confined, and denied food and water. When hunting season ends, dogs who are no longer wanted are discarded.
