Mission Tails: 11 incredible animal rescues underway
In March, we urgently requested help for a special rescue from Kuwait. U.S. Army FSR "Hawk" Judson had found Evi on base and he said, "It was love at first sight." You responded with waves of support that helped us not only assure Evi's rescue but the rescue of 10 other servicemembers animals too - Mowgli in Kuwait; Nala and Squeaker in Egypt; Poly, Freckles, Nightboy, Mr.Meowgi, Oliver and Momma Dog in Iraq; and Savage the little pup in Jordan. On top of these we just received a new from another U.S. military servicemember last week. We're joyful to be able to help these deserving animals and their servicemembers - and we couldn't do it without your support!

In this article you can learn more about these rescues and also some of the complicated logistics that go into our OBP: Worldwide missions. Find out what it takes to complete these monumental rescues.

SuppliesAs pet parents we never give a second thought to the essential routine and emergency care that our furry friends need. A call or trip to the vet and we are quickly provided with vital medications and vaccines. However in many developing countries these supplies are hard if not impossible to come by, leaving animals without the care that they need. SPCA International's Veterinary Supply Aid program is providing animal welfare organizations all over the world indispensable veterinary supplies they would otherwise struggle without. Learn more about this amazing program.

SmokeIn 2011, SPCA International worked tirelessly to rescue a donkey from Iraq that had become a Marine unit's mascot. It took months of diligence and thinking outside the box to bring Smoke-the-donkey to the United States. Smoke's story is harrowingly told in a beautiful new book by Cate Folsom "Smoke". We give the book a big thumbs up. Get your copy now!

FrogApril is national frog month and there are over 4,000 species to celebrate! Their diets consist of insects, worms, minnows and spiders; this makes frogs carnivores. The smallest frog is the Paedophryne amauensis, this little guy is 7.7mm long where as the largest frog, Conraua goliath is 12.6in long and weighs 7lbs! Frogs are incredibly important because they are an indicator species, alerting us to pollution in the air or water.
