The Shelter of the Week program honors animal organizations throughout the world for outstanding work to save and protect all kinds of animals. Each shelter chosen receives a cash grant and official recognition.

Putnam County SPCA: Brewster, NY
The Putnam SPCA is an independent organization, in the Putnam County of New York, providing much needed services of enforcing the animal cruelty laws, providing humane education, and housing the abused animals seized from terrible situations.
Fundacion Amigos de Animales Boquete: Boquete, Chiriquie, Rep. de Panama
The mission behind Fundacion Amigos de Animales Boquete in Panama is to provide low cost spaying and neutering of dogs and cats and to promote the general welfare of animals in the Boquete community and surrounding areas.
Amigos de los Animales Mazatlan: Mazatlan, Mexico
Situated in Mazatlan, Mexico, Amigos de los Animales is a group of dedicated individuals providing a much needed service to the community. Their goal is to create an environment free of homeless dogs and cats.
Soi Dog Foundation: Phuket, Thailand
Soi Dog Foundation is presently working around the clock with groups of volunteers and small agencies in the Bangkok area to rescue animals in the flooding. Dedicated animal lovers have been going out on boats, and sightings of hundreds of dogs swimming for their lives, many of them drowning from exhaustion and hunger have been reported.
Lamar County Humane Society: Vernon, AL
Founded in the mid 1980’s, Lamar County Humane Shelter is an organization run strictly by volunteers with the assistance of veterinarians in neighboring counties and through monetary donations from its members. In fact in the recent years, the backbone of the group is a dedicated handful of senior volunteers who have residing in the county for some time.
